Associate Account Manager - United States


This position is for a long-term career in consultative selling and offers a comprehensive 6 to 12 month one-on-one training program in Philadelphia corporate headquarters as an Associate Account Manager. Upon completion of the training program, the Associate Account Manager will relocate to a sales territory within the Continental United State as an Account Manger.


Training offers hands on exposure to every aspect of our business and covers product knowledge, customer service, company operations, and professional selling skills. 

  • This is a sales training position geared toward developing knowledge and an understanding of DM products, procedures and policies.
  • It entails supporting the Total Customer Satisfaction Department in their daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Establishes and manages effective programs to address the following issues:
    • Qualifying accounts
    • Managing requests from existing clients.



  • Excellent knowledge of company's products, pricing practices, and selling skills.
  • Excellent time management, communications, decision-making, human relations, presentation and organization skills.
  • Professional appearance and presentation required.


  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in flavor or food ingredient sales preferred; however, 1-3 years of sales experience from other industries or experience in the food and beverage industry (purchasing, R&D, marketing) will be considered.

    Food Technologist - Confection Focus

    To develop new and use existing technologies to develop confection applications and product developments that showcase all David Michael products and abilities in presentations and assistance to new and existing customers. To provide technical information and assistance to all David Michael departments as necessary. To interact with all account managers and customers in technical assist areas. Excellent communication skills, intrapersonal skills and decision making is highly required.


    • Develop prototypes of new creative idea items using David Michael products and technology.
    • Modify existing customer base products showing best performance of David Michael products.
    • Record all formulations & procedures.
    • Evaluate and select all flavors that are appropriate for sample requests as assigned for your technical project area.
    • Sustain Applications and Product Development department laboratory section equipment and supplies needed for all projects to be completed on time.
    • Run all pilot plant batches as necessary for project requirements and provide assistance to customer technology staff who may also utilize the pilot plant.
    • Provide communication for everyone listed on the internal Profile computer files as necessary for projects. Create new Profile file for creative product ideas for internal approval.
    • Provide all necessary technical communications to account managers.
    • To benefit the company by participation as requested in professional outside activities including National Institute of Food Technologists David Michael booth and David Michael’s annual Roadshow.
    • Participation in all internal sensory panels.


    • Knowledge of extensive areas of food science and technology, marketed food product types and laboratory procedures.

      Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist

      Provide support for the regulatory department to ensure efficient and compliant business
      processes. Assist in identifying data and processes needed to effectively provide
      regulatory data regarding our products worldwide.
      Stay current with regulatory information pertaining to our business using search tools and
      industry associations In conjunction with VP Regulatory Affairs and Product Compliance, is responsible forcompliance with Corporate and Subsidiary policies and procedures.


      • In conjunction with VP Regulatory Affairs and Product Compliance, delegates duties to and manages employees within the department.
      • Conduct and document regulatory activities in accordance with applicable regulations,
        guidelines, customer requirements, and David Michael policies.
      • Develop plans for product submission/registrations in accordance with current worldwide regulations and guidelines.
      • Prepare regulatory product related submissions.
      • Assist in conducting compliance audits.
      • Monitor global regulatory developments and formulate corporate response.
      • Maintain annual licenses, registrations, and applicable data
      • Contribute to the development and functioning of the crisis management program
      • Provide regulatory input for product recalls and recall communications
      • Provide country specific regulatory support.
      • Acts as a mentor to less-experienced staff and participates in the development of others by facilitating training
      • Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by VP Regulatory Affairs and Product


      • Ability to assess an appropriate regulatory path based upon global business strategies.
      • Ability to develop regulatory solutions with consideration and guidance based on the
        impact to operations and manufacturing.
      • Must possess strong leadership skills.
      • Must be detail and results oriented.
      • Must demonstrate strong managerial skills.


      • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred
      • Minimum of five (5) years in regulatory affairs or similar, preferably in flavors.
      • Management experience


      • Work is preformed in a temperature controlled office environment.
      • Occasional working in plant environment may be required.
      • Occasional lifting, walking, bending, standing, climbing stairs.
      • Personal protective equipment may be required while in designated areas of the facility.
      • International travel as necessary.
