Flavor Technician

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare flavors as well as assist in various laboratory functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare flavor samples as directed in formulations provided by supervisor.
  • Coordinate shipping of product samples
  • Maintain raw materials such that supplies are available in the lab at all times.
  • Maintain laboratory in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
  • Generate data needed for formula and shipping; specific gravity, flash point, etc
  • Screen product as directed by supervisor/perform basic applications of flavors in products.
  • Follow appropriate safety and laboratory procedures.
  • Follow priorities in performance of duties
  • Obtain laboratory items and target samples for projects, typically at grocery store.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and software (will train)
  • Basic knowledge of Chemistry
  • Basic Math skills
  • Basic Computer Skills (Spreadsheet, Word Processing)

EDUCATION/ TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree in laboratory sciences and/or 1 year laboratory experience preferred

    Associate Account Manager - United States

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    This entry level position offers a comprehensive 12 to 18 month one-on-one training program in DM’s Philadelphia corporate headquarters. Upon competition of the program the individual must relocate to sales territory in a US major city as an Account Manager. Training offers hands on exposure to every aspect of our business and covers product knowledge, customer service, company operations, and professional selling skills. Our goal is to have the most knowledgeable sales force in the industry.

    This is a creative, consultative, professional sales position geared toward developing new business opportunities and servicing existing business. It entails building long-term relationships, supporting our clients in their endeavors to create new food products, helping them utilize our products effectively, and offering customized solutions. Emphasis is on the development process rather then the quick close.

This person has an aptitude for both science and business and a desire to learn and think creatively.

    Territories are assigned during training based on the needs of the company. The ideal candidate must move to Philadelphia for sales training and then relocate to a sales territory after training is completed. Account Managers are placed in major cities in the United States to begin a long term career in sales.

    EDUCATION/ TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

    • Candidates must have a Bachelors Degree.
    • All candidates must have a valid US drivers license and be a US citizen.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • 90% Travel
    • Ability to sit in a car for up to four hours

      Buyer

      SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
      Responsible for the preparation and placement of purchase orders for assigned commodities, suppliers, and services. Identification and development of quantified suppliers while seeking the lowest cost on purchases and maximizing value. Appropriate records should be maintained on all activities. At the appropriate time the individual must take whatever actions are required when a supplier problem will stop production.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Placement and follow up of purchase orders to completion.
      • Provide information on price increases and respond to cost requests.
      • Negotiate with approved vendors to achieve the best pricing for a variety of food and flavor ingredients, packaging, office supplies and some MRO items.
      • Ability to make decisions based on the information gathered on behalf of company.
      • Keep abreast of market conditions and industry trends.
      • Communicate and maintain rapport internally with company departments and externally with supplier sales reps.
      • Second source raw material per the parameters of Regulatory and Quality Assurance.
      • Continually source new raw materials in a timely basis if needed for production.
      • Knowledge of proper procedures to facilitate returning rejected raw material.
      • Strong aptitude to analyze prices and get the best deals possible.
      • Departmental Filing as needed.
      • Participate as needed in vendor visits.
      • Help with coverage of the front reception phone system.

      QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

      • Microsoft Word, Excel
      • Good computer, math, writing & strong telephone skills.
      • Working knowledge of Lotus notes a plus.
      • Good time management, communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
      • Solid negotiating skills required.

       


      EDUCATION/ TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

      • Min. 7-10 year purchasing experience.
      • Food Industry experience a plus.\
      • Strong working knowledge of the food and flavor industry, ingredients, and products.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

      • Office setting – climate controlled.
      • Able to sit at a desk for lengthy periods of time using computer.
      • Periods of high stress, and close office environment
      • Exposure to food grade aroma and/or smells.
      • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
      • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.
