Associate Account Manager - United States

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This entry level position offers a comprehensive 12 to 18 month one-on-one training program in DM’s Philadelphia corporate headquarters. Upon competition of the program the individual must relocate to sales territory in a US major city as an Account Manager. Training offers hands on exposure to every aspect of our business and covers product knowledge, customer service, company operations, and professional selling skills. Our goal is to have the most knowledgeable sales force in the industry.

This is a creative, consultative, professional sales position geared toward developing new business opportunities and servicing existing business. It entails building long-term relationships, supporting our clients in their endeavors to create new food products, helping them utilize our products effectively, and offering customized solutions. Emphasis is on the development process rather then the quick close.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:
The ideal candidate has 0-2 years experience, is strongly sales oriented and knows sales is the career path he/she wants to pursue. This person possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, motivation, and determination and is a self starter. Industry knowledge is a plus. This person has an aptitude for both science and business and a desire to learn and think creatively.

Territories are assigned during training based on the needs of the company. The ideal candidate must move to Philadelphia for sales training and then relocate to a sales territory after training is completed. Account Managers are placed in major cities in the United States to begin a long term career in sales.

EDUCATION/ TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Candidates must have a Bachelors Degree.
  • All candidates must have a valid US drivers license and be a US citizen.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • 90% Travel
  • Ability to sit in a car for up to four hours
  • Average hours per week: 45
  • Capable of carrying containers up to 50 lbs.

    Regulatory Specialist

    Summary of responsibilities:
    Complete requests for regulatory compliance of David Michael products manufactured worldwide. Communicate compliance to company policy and procedures regarding facilities. Conduct independent research and interpret information to support the regulatory authority to use ingredients.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Must complete formal written response to customer inquiries
    • Completion of customer questionnaires regarding David Michael’s internal programs and policies
    • Formula approval process and all duties related to the procedure
    • Bulk flavor and allergen labeling in compliance with applicable country regulations
    • Assist with communicating, investigating, and resolving customer complaints with guidance of supervisor.
    • Must communicate effectively with sales, customers and internal employees regarding regulatory status of flavors, stabilizers and natural colors.
    • Skilled at protecting David Michael’s Intellectual Property
    • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures regarding flavor industry
    • Other duties as deemed appropriate by supervisor

    Qualification & Skills required:

    • Knowledge of regulatory agencies as it pertains to the flavor industry
    • General regulatory knowledge about flavors and the use of flavors in the food and pharmaceutical industry.
    • Must exhibit independent and critical thinking within David Michael’s policies and procedures.
    • Works under general supervision
    • Cross functional and multi-tasking skills are required
    • Attention to detail is a mandatory skill required for effectiveness
    • Computer skills required

    Education/Training/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related science and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the flavor field or in a related industry.

    Work experience:

    • Requires a minimum of 2 years in Regulatory Affairs / Technical area where the skills employed in this area have been effectively demonstrated.
    • Previous experience in the Regulatory/technical area of a food/flavor/chemical company equal to or greater than the above requirement and can demonstrate these abilities.


    Work Environment & Physical Demands:

    • General office environment.
    • Long period of time sitting at desk/computer
    • Domestic travel as necessary
    • Occasional Plant work is necessary which may require PPE equipment
    • Occasional lifting, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending.
    • Exposure to food grade aroma and smells

      Flavor Compounder

      SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
      Compounding of raw materials based on formulas to produce finished flavor or intermediate.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Compound Flavor samples
      • Replenish ingredient stock
      • Follow all lab and GMP procedures
      • Follow all written formula instructions
      • Cross train in all operations of the sample department
      • Participate in all inventory counts

         

      QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

      • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
      • Must have math skills; ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
      • High School Diploma required by previous experience is not essential.

         

      EDUCATION/ TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

      • Basic math skills
      • Appropriate math skills.
         

      WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, lift, squat and bend.
      • The employee may carry up to 50 lbs.
      • Exposed to various odors.
      • Exposure to food grade flavor compounds and ingredients
