Flavor Technician

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare flavors as well as assist in various laboratory functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare flavor samples as directed in formulations provided by supervisor.
  • Coordinate shipping of product samples
  • Maintain raw materials such that supplies are available in the lab at all times.
  • Maintain laboratory in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
  • Generate data needed for formula and shipping; specific gravity, flash point, etc
  • Screen product as directed by supervisor/perform basic applications of flavors in products.
  • Follow appropriate safety and laboratory procedures.
  • Follow priorities in performance of duties
  • Obtain laboratory items and target samples for projects, typically at grocery store.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and software (will train)
  • Basic knowledge of Chemistry
  • Basic Math skills
  • Basic Computer Skills (Spreadsheet, Word Processing)

EDUCATION/ TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree in laboratory sciences and/or 1 year laboratory experience preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Laboratory setting
  • Handle chemicals and laboratory glassware

    Sales Marketing Manager

    Position Summary:
    David Michael & Co., an innovation leader in the Flavors industry, is seeking to fill a newly created Sales Marketing Manager position.  The selected candidate will develop Marketing tools and presentations, and support Sales in delivering those directly to clients.  The right candidate will have great Marketing skills, poise and confidence in front of clients, and strong cross-functional skills.  This position will have high client visibility and important business impact.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Regularly support Sales during on-site client visits to present Flavor trends, category reviews, ideation lists, and corporate capabilities overviews
    • Approximately 25-40% travel to clients, industry expos and other events
    • Conceive , develop and deliver impactful Flavor tools, presentations and immersions for both proactive and reactive opportunities
    • Develop naming, concepts and positioning to support potential client offerings
    • Support technical marketing initiatives, including positioning development
    • Uncover, apply and communicate industry, category and consumer trends to support cross-functional innovation and business opportunity development
    • Monitor, analyze and apply competitive intelligence news, information and data
    • Conduct feasibility analyses to help size business opportunities
    • Collaborate with Strategic Business Development to deliver training to Sales
    • Network within the industry to promote DM visibility and brand recognition
       

    Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

    • BS in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field
    • 3+ years industry experience; knowledge of Flavors/Food industry a plus
